The Cybervision Cyclops canvassing system was developed to provide high-specification marketing tools for the ad sales department of a newspaper or other publishing organisation.
The canvassing system can be used exclusively at the service of the ad sales department or combined with the Cybervision ad order entry system. With this combination, ad sales data is passed electronically and without effort to the ad order entry ledger and ultimately to the production process and the commercial accounts system. This offers considerable savings in terms of manpower and helps to avoid errors inherent in paperwork and multiple keying installations.
The system is designed so that the ad sales manager is not inhibited in his specification of a sales campaign. He/she is provided with very powerful software tools to identify geographical and market sector groups to target.
The geographical data is supplied in map form, on which he/she can mark sales territories and other physical grouping based on combinations of counties for example.
The market composition information is selected from the canvassing database, which can be existing customer records, accounts system customer records and/or 'bought in' customer lists.
